Movie Opener Brainstorming & Research

Rise- This video has a lot of extreme close-ups, as well as fast zooms and panning shots. The audience hears the joyful music that is playing, which creates a sense of anticipation, only for the music to change, creating suspense as the scene unfolds. In addition, the focus on soccer lets the audience know that the movie will be focused on a kid with a soccer dream.

Dear Lover- The audience hears pleasant music, which is followed by a display of the romance between the two characters. After that, a voice over is introduced, which further ties the audience to the characters. The audience is left wanting more at the conclusion which proves that this is a successful movie opener. This urge will keep the audience at the edge of their seats as the plot unfolds.

Dare to Thrill- The work starts out with a lot of adventurous motion and well-placed music. These effects give the audience an effective experience of what the characters are feeling while they proceed to drive around the parking lot. The fun that they are having soon comes to an end after they hit a speed bump and realize that something is in the trunk. This curiosity then incites mystery and horror after they see what is in there.

Always Watching- A suspenseful video with a lot of exposition for an introductory scene. This exposition sets up the plot for the whole movie. In addition, the close up camera shots also provide an eerie emotion as well as the title. This proves to show that the title of a movie can contribute a lot to the overall theme and feelings in a movie.

The Blue Boar- In this video, the costume that they use is very old fashioned. In addition, the closeup camera shots show us the character's feeling and highlights her young face as a child. Also, there are some camera shots that have a special effect on the lens. The lens gives a very nostalgic feeling of how life was in the past. Finally, in the end, we see somewhat of an analogy where the character makes a boar made of leaves and it cuts to a white outline of one.

White Coat- The video starts with a succession of quick cuts that convey the character's personal befuddlement. This opener does a fantastic job at grabbing the viewer's attention, and the usage of sound and music is also excellent. In addition, the lighting of the scene makes the setting very realistic as we see the character in a dark lab. The props that the character uses also gives us that spooky feeling that the directors are trying to portray.

Stalker- The piece's mix of drama and terror is fascinating. The usage of sound and music towards the beginning of the video generates a strong sense of suspense. Her morning routine gives us the sense that she is being watched as we see her turn around after she looks at her mirror. Later on, the character's acting shows us that she has a sense of urgency as she is rushing to get out of school. The lighting also plays a role as we see the day darken and she is confronted by a stranger at the end which confirms that this is a horror movie.

Nostalgia- The film's opening sequence alternates between paintings and characters to establish its plot. We can see that these paintings have a significant meaning to the character as it looks like she is looking back in her past. This is given away by the old photos at the end most likely showing how she was as a young woman. This technique sort of shows a sentiment feeling as we see a younger girl who is most likely her granddaughter learn from her grandma. This give the audience a nostalgic feeling like the grandma is feeling, hence the movie tiltle.

Summary- After looking at the different movie openers, it gave me a lot of new thoughts on how to make my own movie opener. To begin with, I need to focus on the camera shots that I choose to use. An effective camera shot will allow me to portray the emotion that I want to show. In addition, the camera shot will also let me show the setting of where I am filming and the importance of it. These movie openers also made me realize how difficult it is to film. For example, if I want a specific time of day, then I have to film and make sure we get the shot that we want. Finally, I might want to have some sounds in our movie opener because many of them lack sound. The lack of sound made it a bit unappealing and too "silent."

As a result, another question/puzzle arises: what was the test, why did he fail, and why would his wife be upset.

What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?
One of the tactics employed is the utilization of well-known and well-known performers who are familiar to younger people between the ages of 16 and 30. The usage of actors also works nicely with the film's status as a comedy. For example, the primary actor is Adam Sandler, who is well-known for his comedic work and is also well-known among younger audiences. Jennifer Anniston is another actor who is popular with the younger generation. In addition, there is uplifting music in the beginning, which is a common approach in comic films.

How has technology been used effectively? You might want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques.
The movie's opening scene makes good use of technology. For instance, the camera follows two men as they walk while also displaying the background in dimmer illumination. The camera angle employed when the two men are walking is an eye level shot. This is utilized to elicit emotion and establish a bond between the characters. In the opening two minutes of the film, there are also a lot of zooms. This is done with a close-up camera angle. When the spouse receives a text message, the camera zooms in on the phone, and it also zooms in on the picture of Europe. When the scene changes and a rapid cut is utilized to change it, transitions and editing techniques are seen.
